How do I know If my game has been canceled due to weather?
Youth Sports Staff makes a Rain Call at 0700 the morning of games. If the games are cancelled you should hear from your coaches. If it is raining and you are unsure if your game is still happening please call your coach to inquire. If your coach is unreachable please feel free to call the Youth Sports Office. Will I get a discount if I have more than one child playing the same sport?
If there are multipule children playing the same sport from the same family all children after the first will receive a 20% discount off of the registration fee.

Can Parents ride the buses with the children to the away games?
The seats on the bus that are not taken by the players and coach are available on a first come first serve basis.

If the date is past the registration deadline can I still sign my child up to play?
You are allowed to sign your child up however they will be placed on a wait list until a spot becomes available on a team.

How do I identify Youth Sports Coaches at games or practices?
Youth Sports Coaches can be identified by name tags issued to them at the beginninng of the season, or by shirts that say Coach on them.
- What happens if my child gets injured?
In the case of any injury to a child First Aid will be administered. If the injury is severe and requires more than basic First Aid the Emercency Medical Services will be called. Please be sure to have the most updated contact information on your childs registration papers so that staff and coaches will be able to contact you in case of an emergency.
- How do I become a Coach for one of the Youth Sports teams?
If you want to volunteer to be a Youth Sports Coach you can find the application on our forms page in this site, at Central Registration Office, and at the Youth Sports and Fitness Office. Once you have filled out the Coaches Application drop it off at the Youth Sports Office and the process will begin. The first step is to complete a backgroung check on you. Once this is cleared you will be called into the Youth Sports and Fitness Office to go though the training and certification that is required before your allowed to coach any of the Youth Sports teams. After completing this training and getting your certification you can begin coaching.

What certification and training do the coaches go though?
The coaches are all trained and certified through the National Alliance of Youth Sports. Their website can be found here.

Do I have to attend a Parents Meeting?
Every season will have a Parents Meeting before practices commence. This meeting will cover practice and game schedules, rules, expectations of parents, coaches, and players. This meeting is mandatory and if you can not attend the meeting your child will be prevented from participating in any of the seasonal activities until you schedule and attend a meeting with the Youth Sports Staff.

What ages are my childern allowed to participate in Youth Sports?
We accept all children from ages 3-18 to participate in our activities.

Does Youth Sports provide uniforms for my child if they are playing on a Youth Sports Team?
Yes, Youth Sports will provide uniforms for all players on our teams. We require them to be signed for and returned to us at the end of the season. If they are not returned it is Standard Operating Procedure to prevent your child from participating in any other Youth Sports Activities until the uniform has been returned or the replacement cost has been paid.
- Am I able to get my child to play in an age group other than his or her own?
Yes, it is possible. Here is the process. After the teams have be made the parents must submit this request to the Youth Sports Director. At this point the director speaks to the coaches involved as well as the parents to ensure that everybody is ok with the change. Once that has been completed it is up to the Directors discresion. His decision will be based on safety of the child, how it will affect the teams, and the childs skill level or ability to play.
- Can I have my child on my team if I am a Coach?
Yes. If you are a coach in the same age group as your child you can have your child on your team. There is also the bonus of having your child play in the season for free. This only works for one child per family.
- Can I still sign my child up for sports if they have an expired sports physical?
Yes you are allowed to sign your child up for the activities provided you follow
2 guidelines. 1) You must be scheduled for a sports physical within two weeks of
signing the child up for the sport. If the sport date is longer than two weeks,
the Youth Sports & Fitness Director must be notified before registering the
participant. 2) The sports physical must be provided to Youth Sports no later
that 24 hours after the appointment time. If it is not turned in, the child will
not be allowed to participate in practices or games; until the sports physical
is updated in CYMS.
